This Earth Day Bon Appétit is celebrating the 15-year anniversary of our first climate action and highlighting the connection between the food system and climate change for our guests! The food system represents 1/3 of all greenhouse gas emissions. It’s a big deal! That’s why we need to make food choices that are low carbon. Bon Appétit was the first food service company to make the connection between food and climate change when we announced our Low Carbon Diet commitment in 2007. We’ve come a long way since our first commitment. Last year we committed to reducing our carbon emissions by 38%, per calorie of food by 2030.
